A first-generation Cuban-American Sacramento-based spoken word poet, AndYes is a Slam champion in Sacramento as well as in Seattle. His work has been featured on Button Poetry, in the National Poetry Slam, at the California Democratic Convention, and overseas with 100 Thousand Poets for Change in Italy. His most recent tour of the West Coast, "The Astronaut Tour", spanned from Seattle to San Diego throughout the month of February, 2018.
His work has also been featured with Planned Parenthood, as part of their 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade celebration, and was funded by the City of Sacramento as part of the Creative Economy Pilot Project to create "Operation FreeSoul" - a program designed around mentoring youth poets on spoken word.
